want to feel safe in our community. Real safety means investing in housing, quality education, and mental health services.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Las Cruces is short thousands of housing units, and many residents have been priced out of homes. While we have built hundreds of apartments and single-family homes in partnership with a range of developers, Las Cruces needs to expand access to housing for all residents.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LCFD\u2019s Project LIGHT (<\/span><b>L<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">essen the <\/span><b>I<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ncidence of <\/span><b>G<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rief and <\/span><b>T<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rauma) provides coordinated fire and police response\u00a0 to thousands of mental health crises a year, and speaks to the critical need for more resources for behavioral health systems.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Las Cruces grows, so do our emergency response needs.
