City Council Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>

Check the calendar schedule<\/a> for exceptions to holidays. All meetings are streamed live on City of Las Cruces Television (CLC-TV) and are archived<\/a>.<\/h4>

The council also holds work sessions for the purpose of studying problems and having deeper discussions about issues. Instructions may be given to the city manager at work sessions, but no official action by council may be taken.<\/h4>

Becky Corran is an advocate and educator committed to serving Las Cruces with an emphasis on equity, access and health. She was elected as Las Cruces first queer City Councilor in 2021 and represents Council District 5, the northeast portion of Las Cruces<\/a><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

As a City Councilor, Becky\u2019s focus has been on housing, transportation and sustainability, including zoning reform<\/a> and energy transition. She has served on (and chaired) the Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley<\/a> and Metropolitan Planning Organization<\/a> Boards and been represented Council on the Roadrunner Transit<\/a> Advisory Board. In addition, she was appointed in 2023 to represent Las Cruces and southern New Mexico on the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s Local Government Advisory Committee<\/a>. While serving on Council, she has advocated for Las Cruces to advance in support of LGBTQ+ people<\/a> and to build strong connections to NMSU and DACC<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With twenty years of experience in public health and education, Becky has worked with diverse communities. Her service and leadership has included LGBTQ+ advocacy; fostering animals; working with farmworker communities and building bridges in higher education. She has served as a board member for a number of educational and community organizations, and currently serves on the Roadrunner Food Bank<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>

Becky graduated with a Master of Public Health from the University of Arizona, and works as a professor at Do\u00f1a Ana Community College, where she teaches courses focused on community health.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
